Hi, I’m a visual artist living in Brooklyn, NY!

Thank you for visiting my site - here’s a little about my work:

Each piece is drawn free-hand, in the round and from above. I tape the paper to a table and walk around it, using body mechanics to isolate my drawing arm from the shoulder down. This is how I construct my lines; I lunge, crouch, lean, and twist in order to push and pull the ink pen.

I began creating large (40” x 30”) drawings in the summer of 2019. I use black India ink on mixed media paper or canvas paper. I am transgender and conversations with my body are a large part of my creative process..

The smaller pieces are from spring of 2019, when I began rotating my images on my lap so I could draw from above. I found the process to be soothing and when the pandemic hit, I was pushed into it as a form of therapy.

The images that emerge are translations of my external environment. The same way my dream world is a remix of places, people and themes I experience in the external world, these drawings pay tribute to my immediate environment. In this case, my studio apartment, in my building on Dean Street, in my neighborhood of Crown Heights.

Right: Before it is shipped, I roll the piece (image inward) and use as many rubber bands as needed to ensure the edges to not tear. Left: This is the same piece, after it’s been unrolled and framed. This collector used museum low glare glass and a blue reveal in the mat.
